GAZT issues 112 violations during the inspection campaign on stores selling women's necessities in Riyadh

Riyadh 17 September 2018: As part of its efforts to ensure compliance of businesses with VAT rules and regulations, the General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) announced that it issued 112 VAT-related violations during its field inspection campaign on stores selling women’s necessities in Riyadh.

GAZT carries out 1,577 field inspections and issues 187 violations against private schools and training institutes

Riyadh, September 16, 2018: As part of its efforts to ensure compliance with VAT’s Implementing regulations, the General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) issued 187 VAT-related violations during field campaigns targeting private schools, training institutes, bookstores, stationery stores and uniforms shops.

GAZT calls on businesses whose annual taxable revenues exceed SAR 40 million to submit their July tax returns

Riyadh, August 28, 2018; The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) called on all VAT-registered businesses whose annual revenues from taxable goods and services exceed SAR 40 million to submit their July tax returns before August 31 through the GAZT portal GAZT.GOV. SA.

GAZT issues 135 tax violations during 800 inspections conducted to date in Makkah during the Hajj season

Riyadh, 19 August 2018; The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) announced that it issued 135 VAT-related violations so far during the intensive inspection campaign it is carrying out during the Hajj season. The campaign, which aims to ensure that businesses comply with the tax regulations, included retail and wholesale stores selling food items, fruits and vegetables, dates, roastaries, sweets, and restaurants, and is being conducted during the Hajj season to ensure the compliance of businesses offering retail services for pilgrims.

GAZT issues 323 tax violations against businesses operating in the telecoms and electronics sectors

Riyadh, 10 August 2018: As part of its efforts to ensure compliance with VAT’s Implementing regulations, The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) announced that it issued 323 VAT-related violations as a result of its field inspection campaign of shopping malls and shops selling mobile phones and electronics in various regions of the Kingdom.

GAZT issues 198 tax violations against businesses operating in the entertainment sector

Riyadh, 18 July 2018:The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) organized a workshop on VAT on Tuesday, July 18, 2018, in cooperation with the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh. The event, which was attended by more than 100 representatives of SME’s, sought to increase the readiness of businesses with annual revenues between SAR 375,000 and SAR 1 million. Businesses within this category are required to apply VAT on their activities at the beginning of 2019.
