“GAZT” and “Ministry of Commerce” continue their field campaigns to educate businesses on VAT registration

Riyadh, 18 December, 2018: The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT), in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Investment, continued its field inspection campaigns aimed at ensuring the VAT readiness and compliance of businesses with annual supply of SAR 375,000 or more, as well as educating them about how to register and the penalties resulting from non-registration by the December 20, 2018, deadline.

Riyadh, 11 December 2018 : The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) reminded businesses with annual supplies in excess of SAR 375,000 to expedite their registration in the VAT system before December 20, 2018, in order to avoid penalties and fines.

Riyadh 21 November 2018: The General Authority of Zakat and Tax has renewed its call for businesses whose annual revenues exceed SR 375,000 to register for VAT before 20 December 2018 via VAT.GOV.SA.

GAZT calls on companies to file their tax returns before end of October

Riyadh, October 25, 2018: The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) called on all businesses registered in VAT whose annual revenues from taxable goods and services exceed SAR 40 million to file their tax returns for the month of September before Oct 31, 2018 through the GAZT online portal (gazt.gov.sa). The same deadline applies to businesses with annual revenues from taxable goods and services less than SAR 40 million for their tax returns for the third quarter of the year.

GAZT issues 135 tax violations during 800 inspections conducted to date in Makkah during the Hajj season

Riyadh, 19 August 2018; The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) announced that it issued 135 VAT-related violations so far during the intensive inspection campaign it is carrying out during the Hajj season. The campaign, which aims to ensure that businesses comply with the tax regulations, included retail and wholesale stores selling food items, fruits and vegetables, dates, roastaries, sweets, and restaurants, and is being conducted during the Hajj season to ensure the compliance of businesses offering retail services for pilgrims.

Riyadh, 10 August 2018: As part of its efforts to ensure compliance with VAT’s Implementing regulations, The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) announced that it issued 323 VAT-related violations as a result of its field inspection campaign of shopping malls and shops selling mobile phones and electronics in various regions of the Kingdom.

GAZT issues 198 tax violations against businesses operating in the entertainment sector

Riyadh, 2 August 2018: As part of its efforts to ensure compliance with VAT’s Implementing regulations,The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) announced that it issued 198 VAT-related violations as a result of its field inspection campaign of businesses operating in the entertainment sector in various regions of the Kingdom, including movie theatres, sports clubs and amusement parks.
