GAZT to conduct more workshops on tax returns in several Saudi cities

The General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) continues to conduct its workshops on “Mechanisms of Filing Tax Returns", with several such workshops planned this month in a number of Saudi cities during the current month, as part of its efforts to support businesses in filing their tax returns on time.
Organized in cooperation with the chambers of commerce and industry in each of the respective cities, the workshops are scheduled to be held in Ta’if on Sunday 18/3/2018, Jubail on Monday 19/3/2018, Jazan on Monday 26/3/2018, Ar’ar on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, Ha’il on Wednesday, 28/3/2018 and Riyadh on Thursday, 29/3/2018.
GAZT had recently held similar workshops in Hafr Al-Batin and Madinah.
All business representatives are urged to attend the workshops as it highlights the importance of tax returns and the required steps to file them.
As per the Value Added Tax (VAT) Law and Implementing Regulations and System, businesses registered in VAT whose value of annual supplies of taxable goods and services exceeds SAR 40 million are required to submit their tax returns on a monthly basis, while businesses whose value of annual supplies of taxable goods and services is SAR 40 million or less are required to do so on a quarterly basis.
Furthermore, the taxable persons or whoever is authorized on their behalf are required to file the tax returns no later than the last day of the month that follows the end of the tax period for which the tax return relates.
