Riyadh - May 30, 2018:
The General Authority for Zakat and Tax (GAZT) announced that its field inspection teams recently issued VAT-related violations against foodstuff retail and wholesale shops in Riyadh and Al-Kharj.

The violations mostly consisted of not using the standard approved VAT invoice, which must include the business’ VAT registration number, not displaying the VAT registration certificate and not including the business’ address in the invoice.

GAZT stepped up its field inspections during the busy shopping season during the Holy Month of Ramadan to ensure that businesses across all sectors are properly implanting VAT.

Consumers are urged by GAZT to use the VAT mobile app, as it allows them to check whether or not the business is registered in VAT and directly report violations.
Violations may also be reported by calling GAZT’s call center (19993) which operates daily during Ramadan from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am.
